I’m meh, on both ends of the argument, is it a shitty thing that needed to happen to the gorilla yes, no one took joy in killing it. That being said asking for the Internet to stop doing anything is just adding fuel to the fire. Is it funny? Meh. Is it stupid? Yeah. Is this world a crazy place that has a orange man angry man I wouldn’t trust to baby sit my dogs, running against a women who 2/3 of the country says is untrustworthy, which whom ever wins gets control of the lion share of the nuclear weapons on the planter? Yeah and that’s fucking freighting. So I am going to enjoy the memes and wait for what ever the next one is. Because God I need a distraction from the real world right now.

My counter argument is that the world is such a crazy place because, instead of doing anything to fix it, people distract themselves with stupid shit. I don’t agree with disengaging from critical thought, it’s what gets us in trouble most of the time. Yeah, I’m fun at parties, and stress will probably end me.

True, my thought process has always been figure out how to solve a problem if I am able, (normally with duct tape).

If I can’t solve it. distract myself and forget about it because I have no power over it.

If I can, make a plan to do as such and do it.

So I get your point and I don’t agree with just giving up on critical thought and disengagement from problems, society, or whatever. But I need to release stress somehow and making jokes about whipping out dicks for a gorilla is a lot healthier than over drinking or what ever other vice I could be engaging in, although I probably should be working on my car to be honest.
